Asthma Prevalence Rates

Prevalence rates are based on Thomson Reuters (Healthcare) MarketScan™ data. If you selected State Employees or Employer-Sponsored Insurance on the Demographics page, then prevalence rates will be estimated from the MarketScan Commercial Database, which includes enrollees in plans sponsored by large self-insured employers. These prevalence rates are adjusted for age, gender, and geographic area. If you selected Medicaid on the Demographics page, then prevalence rates are estimates from the MarketScan Medicaid Database. This database includes data from several States (not identified to maintain client confidentiality) that contribute their enrollment and claims data. The Medicaid prevalence rates are adjusted for age, gender, and race/ethnicity.
