What's New

The 2011 State Snapshots has been updated with information from the 2011 National Healthcare Quality Report (NHQR).

The 2011 State Snapshots draws data from 171 measures, a 37 percent increase relative to the 2010 State Snapshots. Although the ordering of chapters has changed slightly, all priority areas included in 2010 have been retained in the 2011 State Snapshots.

Healthy People 2020 replaces Healthy People 2010.

To assist States in taking action to improve health care quality and reduce disparities, a list of online State resources is now available from the State Snapshots.

NHQRDRnet is an online query tool that provides access to national and State data. The NHQRDRnet has been updated with information from the 2011 National Healthcare Quality Report (NHQR).

There are three Web sites that provide different types of information from the reports: the NHQR/DR Reports Web Site, the free online query tool NHQRDRnet, and the State Snapshots (this Web site).

Ambulatory and Hospital Care under the Focus on Disparities section was split into two subsections: (i) Hospital Care, (ii) Ambulatory Care Sensitive Hospitalizations. Three new subsections were added. These include Ambulatory Care Processes, Home Health Care, and Nursing Home Care.
